Evening Adhkar – Authentic Duas for Protection

Read a practical collection of evening adhkar from the Quran and Sunnah. These remembrances help a Muslim end the day with gratitude, protection and renewed trust in Allah.

    When to recite evening adhkar

Evening adhkar are recited from the afternoon into the evening, according to the wording and practice described in the sources. If you miss the preferred time, remember Allah when you are able rather than abandoning the habit.

Set aside a few minutes before sunset or after Maghrib. Read deliberately and understand the meaning of what you say.

    Recommended evening remembrance

The following are among the well-known authentic remembrances used by Muslims for the evening:

    • Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas three times each (Sunan Abi Dawud 5082)
    • Ayat al-Kursi (Quran 2:255)
    • A'udhu bi kalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq (Sahih Muslim 2709)
    • Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma'as-mihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama' three times (Sunan Abi Dawud 5088)

    A balanced daily practice

The aim of evening adhkar is remembrance of Allah and seeking His protection, not fear or a promise that difficulty will never occur. Keep the practice accessible: recite the most important established items first, then add more as your consistency grows.
