    Juz 29

    Introduction to Surah Al-Mulk

Surah Al-Mulk (Arabic: سورة الملك, "The Sovereignty") is the 67th chapter of the Quran with 30 verses. It was revealed in Makkah and is also known as Tabarak (from its opening word meaning "Blessed") and Al-Mani'ah ("The Preventer") because it prevents punishment in the grave.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ never went to sleep without reciting Surah Al-Mulk (Tirmidhi 2892). He ﷺ also said: "There is a surah in the Quran which contains thirty verses that will intercede for its companion until he is forgiven" (Tirmidhi 2891). This makes it one of the most important surahs for daily recitation.

The surah covers Allah's dominion over creation, the purpose of life and death, the perfection of the heavens, the consequences of disbelief, signs in nature, and humanity's absolute dependence on Allah.
